The throwing of the bouquet is a really important moment in the wedding day. And it’s over very quickly. So a professional wedding photographer should be ready. I made sure I was in the right position so that the bride wasn’t backlit (which would have meant she was silhouetted) and so that I could get a good view of the women and girls getting ready to catch it. I shot 5-6 frames in very quick succession and I think this one captured the moment perfectly. There was nothing contrived or set up about the shot. This was natural, reportage, documentary wedding photography.
