Most of my wedding photography clients hire me because I use a natural, observational, reportage style. That isn’t as simple as it might sound. it’s not just a matter of standing back and pointing and shooting as events unfold. It’s a process of looking carefully and picking out the moments (the smiles, the hugs, the laughter, the kisses etc). But as well as the moments, its also about the details. A key detail is of course the wedding rings. This is a good example of a wedding detail shot. It’s not normally easy to get a photo of both rings in one photo as either the bride or groom’s ring can be obscured if they’re holding hands. But I arranged the couple with their hands interlocked so that I could get this image. As a wedding photographer, you need to capture everything that matters, and that takes a lot of focus (pardon the pun).
