One of the very toughest parts to photograph at any wedding is the first dance. Why? Because the combination of low lighting, mixed in with bursts of strobing light, and lots frenetic movement as the bride and groom as well as all their guests throw shapes on the dancefloor, can make it difficult to get great photos. But there’s only one way of getting the photos you want – whereas throughout the wedding day, I remain unobtrusive, during the dancing, I throw myself right into the action in burst mode, often with some subtle fill in flash. At every wedding, I’m able to come away with some really good photographs on the dancefloor.
